$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install gengetopt 

gengetopt is installed in your system.

Make ensure the gengetopt package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gengetopt *

You will get with gengetopt package name, version, architecture and description in a table

gengetopt package basic information:
